Peter Twiss
Co-OWNER & Executive Chairman
Peter brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience in international shipping. He spent much of his career with Oldendorff Carriers, ultimately serving as Chief Executive Officer of one of the world’s largest dry bulk shipping companies. His experience spans commercial shipping, corporate strategy, organisational leadership and the management of global businesses through multiple shipping cycles.
At Aventor, Peter provides long-term strategic perspective, commercial judgement and senior industry experience, supporting the company’s investment and advisory activities.
Chok Kian Loong
Co-OWNER & Chief Executive Officer
Kian Loong brings more than two decades of experience in research, market analysis and commercial decision-making across the energy and global shipping markets. He spent approximately 15 years with Oldendorff Carriers, where he developed and led the company’s global dry bulk research capabilities, combining commodity analysis, vessel supply-and-demand modelling and freight-market intelligence to support commercial and trading decisions.
He subsequently joined Enesel as Head of Research, where he was responsible for establishing a new research team and analytical capability from the ground up. At Aventor, he leads the development of the company’s research, proprietary investment and technology capabilities, with a particular focus on integrating fundamental market analysis, data and technology into investment decision-making.

Nicole Lee
Founding Director
Nicole is a Law and Psychology graduate from the University of Auckland and began her shipping career with Oldendorff Carriers in 2019. She joined as a junior Capesize freight analyst, focusing on vessel supply and demand and working closely with commodity analysts to understand the interaction between cargo flows and freight markets. She progressed to Senior Freight Analyst in 2022.
In 2024, Nicole joined Enesel as Head of the Supramax desk, extending her experience from fundamental research into freight derivatives trading. Alongside her trading responsibilities, she contributed to the development of the new research capability, including analytical frameworks and market indicators, providing experience in translating research into practical trading and commercial decision-making.
Sim Yi Zhen
Founding Director
Yi Zhen holds a Master in Law from National University of Singapore and joined Oldendorff Carriers as a trainee in 2017. She began her shipping career in vessel operations before transferring internally to the Research department in 2022, where she became a Senior Freight Analyst covering the Panamax market. Her principal areas of expertise include grains market analysis and Panamax vessel supply and demand.
In 2024, Yi Zhen joined Enesel as Head of the Panamax desk. Alongside her market responsibilities, she contributed to establishing a new research capability from the ground up, including the development of analytical structures and market indicators to support research, trading and commercial decision-making.
